Jooly's Joint 5th Birthday Paty!

On Friday 8th September 2000, 40 members of JJ gathered in Derby, UK to celebrate the 5th birthday of Jooly's Joint.

Mary is from Worchestershire. She has been a member of JJ since Easter. She has met several interesting people through the service, including Elaine (see below!).

Chris is from Sunderland. He has been using JJ for 2 years, and has already met a couple of his webpals.

Rosemary made a special trip from her home in Belfast, Northern Ireland just to join us for the party!

Neil is from York. He has been using JJ for just a few weeks, and thinks it's fantastic!

Mark is from Cheshire. He has been using JJ for 18 months. He met other JJ members for the first time at the MS Society lobby of Parliament in March.

Jill is from Gloucester. She lives just around the corner from her Webpal Martin, and met another Webpal, Karen, at the party. She has been using JJ for 6 months

Kate from Nottinghamshire has been using JJ for about a year. Kate met several members of JJ earlier this year, when she attended the MS Society lobby of Parliament.

Elaine is from Oxford. She came to the party with her sister, and has another sister who also has MS. Elaine has 4 Webpals from the UK, Canada and the USA.

Karen is from Gloucester, and has been using JJ for 18 months. Karen met her Webpals Martin and Jill for the first time at the party.

Peter lives in Oxford. He has been using JJ for 2 years, and has been in touch with many people around the world through the service.

Martin is from Gloucester, and has been using JJ for 18 months. Through the service he discovered that a neighbour who he had never met, Jill, also has MS, and they came to the party together!

Julia is fromYork, and has been using JJ for 3 years. She and her husband Stuart came to the party in their caravan!

Dave is also known on JJ as 'Sam Weller' (after a character in his favourite Charles Dickens novel 'The Picwick Papers'). Dave is from London, and has been using JJ for about 6 months.

Tony is from Sale, just outside Manchester. He has been using JJ since Sept '98, and met other JJ members for the first time at the JJ party.

Wendy lives in Yorkshire. She has been using JJ for 2 years, and has travelled the to the US and Canada to meet other JJ members!

John lives in Nottingham. He has been using the JJ Webpal service for 3 years, and has met a few of his Webpals in real life.

Malcolm lives in Yorkshire, and has been a member of JJ for one year. He is a famous author, and regularly shares his work with others members of Jooly's Joint.

Nessa is originally from the USA, but now lives in Swansea, Wales. She has been using JJ for 4 years, and met members of the service earlier in the year at the MS Society lobby of Parliament.

Kate and Claire kept themselves and everyone else amused all afternoon!
