"This is a terrific site. A real feeling of community, shared experience and unobtrusive support. An excellent site for anyone with MS." Internet Magazine

"Jooly's Joint has been the best thing that has happened to me since being diagnosed with MS. I have made so many friends and I look forward to meeting them all. When I'm down, have a problem, or just want to share a laugh, I know I have people there that care about me and are there for me. Having MS is no picnic, but without it I wouldn't have the friends I hold so dear to me." Kris, Jooly's Joint member, Idaho, USA

Smiling sun Welcome!

Hello and welcome to Jooly's Joint. I hope you enjoy your visit! Hear Julie say hello! (49k)

Julie Howell Jooly's Joint is an online community of people that live with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). If you, a family member or a friend has MS you are very welcome here.

My name is Julie Howell. I'm 36, and live in Abbots Langley, Hertfordhire, UK.

I was diagnosed with MS when I was 20.

Your story is probably very similar to mine. When I was diagnosed, I didn't know anything about MS or anyone else who had it. It was a scary and lonely time.

In 1995, I started Jooly's Joint to learn more about my condition from other people with MS. This simple homepage grew and grew. Twelve years on, hundreds of people visit each week and the Jooly's Joint community has 10,000 members from all over the world!

Most people with MS would agree that our lives changed when we were diagnosed. While some doors may close, others will open. MS affects us all in different ways. We all feel differently about MS. You may feel very angry about MS. You may feel very sad. You may feel hopeful. You may feel at peace. There is no right or wrong way to feel. However you feel about MS, you are welcome here.

2,500,000 people in the world have MS.

While that's not great news, it may help to know that you are not alone.

Many of the people that come to Jooly's Joint have symptoms of MS, but no diagnosis. You are welcome here.

At Jooly's Joint you can meet others with MS in a friendly, supportive environment.

Jooly's Joint does not contain information about how to diagnose or treat MS. Always speak to your neurologist or MS society before trying any treatment you read about on the web.

Smiling sun How do I become a member of Jooly's Joint?

Just coming to our website makes you a member of the Jooly's Joint community. Every part of Jooly's Joint is free to use. If you have MS, symptoms of MS or a friend or family member with MS then you are very welcome here.

I hope you will find the Jooly's Joint website easy to use. If you have any problems finding your way around, please drop me an email.

Oh, and if you're new to all this, 'MSer' is just a short way of saying 'a person with MS'.
