I am a member of the Human Race!

I am a member of the Human Race
Yet there are times when things seem out of place
5 years a go I thought I was fine
Life was so good, call it cloud nine
My vision went bad, I felt like a drunk
Bumping into things, there’s no way I’m drunk
Test after test to see what was wrong,
I hadn’t a clue what was going on,
Something wasn’t right, that much I knew
“We thinks it’s MS” that much they knew,
What was MS? What does that mean?
“Do what you can while the light is still green”
“Do what I can?”, “What did you say?”
“Your symptoms aren’t bad but they could be one day”
“Could be one day?”, that’s all they could tell
I looked at my mum as my eyes started to well.
How did I get this, what did I do?
"It’s something you developed, unfortunate you"
Well, that was then and this is now,
A future so clear ahead somehow,
I have no control if a relapse is had
Try staying positive, don’t be so sad
With no current cure, yet treatments are there
I have a condition, somebody will care?
Pigs might fly with NICE in charge
We all should be happy ‘living it large!’
Yet they can’t see what they are doing to us
‘Its only MS, why all the fuss?’
‘Its only MS?’ say that to my face.
I am a member of this human race
You’d think that’d count for something in life,
Yet all you’re doing is giving us strife
We are all members of this human race
Hear what we say, don’t just turn face.
With no known cure, yet treatments are there
Don’t write us off! Someone must care?
Please, somebody care.
