About Jooly's Joint need help?

  • Are you lost? Check the Jooly's Joint site map.

  • There is no charge for using Jooly's Joint.

  • Jooly's Joint is a community of people with MS supporting each other and sharing experiences.

  • If you or a friend, family member or someone you know has MS you are welcome at Jooly's Joint.

  • Jooly has MS, but is not medically qualified. Jooly's Joint cannot give you medical advice. If you have questions about your own condition you should contact your doctor or MS society.

  • Everyone is welcome here, whatever your religion, race, gender, age, sexual orientation, political beliefs and location.

  • When you visit Jooly's Joint please keep it clean, respectful and supportive.

  • Not everyone can read the green/black Jooly's Joint Web site easily. The great news is you only need to make a couple of simple changes to your browser settings to make the site easier to read. This doesn't just apply to Jooly's Joint, but to all sites on the web.

  • To change the size of the text:

    • Click 'view' at the very top of your browser window. A dropdown menu will appear. Select 'text size' and then 'largest'. Immediately, the text will be a lot bigger.

    • You may also find it helpful to change the colour scheme, e.g. to a yellow/black combination.

  • To change the colours:

    • Click 'tools' at the very top of your browser window.

    • A dropdown menu will appear. From this, select 'Internet options'.

    • Another box will appear. Look for the button marked 'accessibility' at the bottom right of the screen and click on it.

    • A new box will appear. Check the box next to 'ignore colours specified on web pages'. When a tick appears in the box click 'OK' to close the box.

    • In the 'Internet options' box (which should still be open, if it isn't you can open it again from the 'tools' menu on your browser) click the button labelled 'colours'.

    • Another box will open. Uncheck the box marked 'use windows colours'.

    • Click the rectangle to the right of 'text' and choose a text colour (yellow, for example).

    • Click the rectangle to the right of 'background' and choose a background colour (eg black). Click 'OK' when you're done.

    • You should find that most pages you visit now automatically have large text that is yellow on a black background.

    • These instructions apply to Internet Explorer. In different browsers the menus and buttons may have slightly different names.

The Jooly's Joint web site

  • Jooly's Joint has 5 main sections:
  • There is also a map of the site to help you find your way around. You can easily get to any section of the site by using the yellow menu bar at the top and bottom of each page.

  • Webpals - This is an email penpal service. You are invited to reply to anyone on the webpal lists or to post your own advertisement.
To reply to someone on a list, click on their email address. Your email package should open with the webpal's email address in the 'to' box. Type a message to the webpal and hit 'send'. When the webpal receives your message he/she will email you back with his/her real email address and you can begin to email each other directly.

'Real' email addresses are not displayed on Jooly's Joint. This gives you some extra privacy.

If your email program doesn't open when you click on the webpal's email address, simply make a note of their address, open your email program yourself and send your message.
Tip: the more people you contact, the more likely you are to get a response!
If you would like to place an advert on the webpal list, just complete the application form. When you have filled out the form, hit 'send'. Your application will be sent to Jooly. When Jooly has added your advert to the list, she will email you to let you know.
